A letter to you all, my loved ones, for the first time in a while!⁠⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⁠⁠
I haven’t been active on socials lately & I've been meaning to make a post to explain for some time! In short, I deleted the Instagram app for a week last December and it was so darn nice I didn't want to get it back.⁠⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⁠⁠
Over the last year and a bit, I struggled with knowing where to take this account & putting too much pressure on myself to keep up. This, coupled with building eco-anxiety meant it was about time I took break so that I could come back strong and tackle the world again 🍃🌏💛⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠ ⁠⁠
In the mean time, I've spent quality time with friends and family, read books, made some pottery, started cycling to work (on an e-bike so no need to be toooo impressed) and had more time to focus on my work & studies. It's been so lovely giving myself some space to feel creative again for fun. But I've missed you all and this wonderful sense of community! Speaking of which, I’m doing a chat on tackling waste & eco-anxiety for ⁠@raid_network next month. So I'm not sure what this account will look like in the future, maybe be I'll go back to regular posting or maybe only when there is something that fuels me and I feel so excited that I just have to share. Maybe I'll write a newsletter instead, who knows! But I'm excited & I bloody love you.⁠⁠

When we buy someone a present we spend time on it in multiple ways - we go to work to earn money to buy it, shop for it, wrap it and give it. The person we give it to then spends time on it - using it, repairing it and eventually, figuring out how to dispose of it. This goes for DIY & eco gifts as well!⁠⠀⁠
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⁠⠀⁠
This year why not do something different and give an experience or donate! Use givewell.org to find charities that produce the best outcomes for people per dollar. If you want to give things, buy second hand or make them yourself. Buy new only if you’re absolutely sure they want and need it and you can’t find it second hand!⁠⠀⁠
