Introduction to Plastic Free Living, Gold Coast QLD, 3 August 2019

I ran my second workshop, “Introduction to Plastic Free Living” at Project Sustainable Youth at Bond University on the Gold Coast. We spoke about the benefits of avoiding plastic for the planet, your health and your pocket followed by some messy, hands on, fun! Participants learnt how to make their own beeswax wraps, toothpaste, coffee scrub and laundry powder. The workshop had 28 participants ranging in age from 12 to 60 years old.

Zero Waste Workshop, Broome WA, 23 March 2019

I ran my first public Zero Waste Workshop in Broome. During the three hour workshop, participants learnt how to make multiple plastic free and zero waste products. You can listen to my radio interview with ABC about the workshop and sustainable living, here.

Participants made beeswax wraps, deodorant, toothpaste lip balm and sunscreen from natural and plastic free ingredients. This workshop was completely plastic free and utilised mostly second hand materials.

The profits of this workshop supported me in completing volunteer work in Senegal with a local NGO.
